I have to vacuum every day with few exceptions. I have kids, dogs and I bake a lot, so my house is filthy. There is a lot of dried grass and leaves tracked in and dog hair aplenty. When my vacuum died I hit the internet to see which models might be best for me. After reading reviews of several I went with the Shark Rotator Pro Complete Lift-Away 3 in 1 vacuum.

What You Get With A Shark Rotator Lift Away Professional Bagless Upright Vacuum

The title is as long as the cord on this thing. There are several models of the Shark Rotator 3 in 1 Vacuum and I went with the Rotator NV522 because of the attachments and reviews. This model comes with the tools I need the most:

  • Premium Pet Power Brush
  • Canister Caddy
  • Exclusive Under Appliance Kitchen Wand

Like most of the other models, the Shark Rotator Lift Away Pro, has a large dusting brush, large turbo brush and a crevice tool, too.

The removable canister, one of the 3 vacuums in 1 is, by far, the best thing about the Shark Rotator NV522. The entire unit is pretty lightweight, but when you detach the canister it weighs next to nothing making it easy to clean the stairs without lugging the whole awkward machine up and down them. I have three stories, so that’s a lot of stairs.

The next 3 in 1 vacuum feature that you will find extremely helpful is the wheeled caddy. You can plop the canister onto that and then use the hose (doubles as the upright handle) and turbo brush head to easily get under furniture where copious amounts of cookie crumbs, cereal, and dog hair accumulate in my house. The canister is really good-sized on the Shark Rotator Professional Lift Away vacuum, so even in this filthy abode I don’t have to empty the canister after every use.

In the upright vacuum mode you will really appreciate the ergonomic handle and swivel head design if you vacuum like me with one hand, and a kid in the other. My old vacuum was really hard to steer around the couch and tight corners so I like the maneuverability of this model.

The the Shark Rotator 3 in 1 has the most attachment/tools of all the Shark Rotator models. I chose it because of the pet hair brush and the oh, so handy angled under appliance wand which sucks up all the flour, sugar, sprinkles, and chocolate chips that end up there because I am the baking queen. Instead of having to pre-sweep that stuff out from under the cabinet doors before I vacuum, now I just attach that and, woosh, all the gunk is gone. The pet hair brush really works to get the dog’s hair off the sofa and out of the carpet. The roller is easy to clean out the strands that gets wrapped around it, too.

The 18-inch crevice tool is also a great attachment that I use a lot. It will reach in between the washer and drier where lots of fuzzy stuff accumulates and I can use it to clean between the seats in our car.

So I went with the Shark Rotator Lift Away Professional Upright because of the 3 in 1 vacuum feature, the premium pet hair attachment and under appliance tool. The other model I liked was the Shark Rotator NV502 because it comes with a home and auto detailing kit. However, I knew I could clean the car pretty well with the tools that come with NV522.

If you want to save a little cash and don’t need as many bells and whistles you might consider the NV501 which is the most basic model. The vacuum is the same but it only comes with the flexible crevice and multi-angle tools.

Right out of the box the Shark Rotator Pro Lift Away is easy to assemble. The attachments are simple to use and with washable filters that you can see, it is easy to keep clean. All the models have HEPA sealed canisters to trap allergens and fine dust particles. To empty the canister simply hold it down in the trash can, push a button that releases the bottom and shake all the stuff out of it.

When reading Shark Rotator vacuum reviews I did not find a lot of disgruntled owners who returned theirs. The chief complaint was that it tipped over easily, but I have not found that to be the case. I am careful not to yank on the hose or over-extend it, though. With a 30-foot long power cord I can vacuum most of the bottom floor without having to move outlets.
